Edge: A playbook for leaders stressed about chasing meaningless growth
We just had the best possible book launch in Denmark with "Smådriftsfordele" (Economies of Small). But we also know that 80% of our audience is outside of Denmark, so we have prepared something for you as well. A case-based playbook for going about the green transition differently than the conventional "bigger is always better."
Today we'll tell you:
- How grand our Danish book launch was
- What's in the new Edge playbook
- What can you learn from The Edge Playbook
1. Danish book launch: Full house
We launched the book "Smådriftsfordele" last Tuesday. We had 130 people in the room - maximum capacity. We sold all the books that the Publisher brought to the event. We are now number 4 on the bestseller list for business books.
And a little something from behind-the-scenes: One of Denmark's Top 20 most powerful people (and that's an actual ranking based on research of power in Denmark, not something we are making up), just wrote to us that they were pleased to receive the book, and that they are looking forward to reading it.
It was a complete wild card that we sent the book to this person (and other influential people who have not responded—trees don't grow to the sky).
Their response tells us that we now have a window to create an alternative story about success, ambition, and impact that centers on the economies of small.

Edge is a short, case-based playbook with 10 cases, each with a strategy to help you approach the green transition differently in your business. These are 10 companies that found their edges, their meaningful limits, and used them to thrive and do great things that the big and limitless can't.

- Location: Zingermann's
- Limits: Hiut Denim
- Balance: Ecosia

3. What can Edge do for you?
Edge is for business decision-makers who enjoy case-based insights and are looking to be inspired by a range of concrete strategies for doing things differently in relation to the green transition.
Edge doesn't offer deep dives (that would make it a very long book), but instead presents 10 different starting points that you can go and explore on your own.
Here's a short quote from Edge:
"The idea of limits has long been framed as negative —a ceiling, a brake, a force that holds us back. The uncomfortable truth is that endless expansion within a finite system is impossible. For decades, business and politics have tried to argue their way around that truth rather than through it.
We use the word Edge to describe this boundary, the place where a company's ambition and capacity are in balance. Most companies cross that line without noticing it. Some companies, however, learn to work with that Edge. They treat it as a design principle."
